Jane App Review 2026: The New King of Integrated Billing?

Originally a Canadian powerhouse, Jane App has spent the last 24 months aggressively taking over the US therapist market. Here is how they did it.

Professional using Jane App

The User Interface Revolution

Jane App's greatest strength is its "clinician-first" design. Everything feels intuitive. The calendar is responsive, the charts are customizable, and the "Day View" is widely considered the best in the industry. In our 2026 testing, the speed of the interface was 20% faster than SimplePractice on mobile devices.

What sets Jane apart in 2026 is its "Chart Templates" library. You aren't stuck with what the software gives you; you can browse a community library of templates built by other psychologists, LCSWs, and even acupuncturists. This community-driven approach makes it the most flexible EHR on this list.

US Insurance Integration

For a long time, Jane was ignored by US therapists because its insurance claim features were designed for the Canadian system. That changed in 2025. Their new US Billing suite allows for direct claim submission, ERA auto-posting, and secondary claim management. While it still feels slightly more "manual" than TherapyNotes, the visual clarity of where a claim stands in the lifecycle is much higher.

Is It Right For You?

Jane App is perfect for the "Hybrid" practice. If you take some insurance but have a large cash-pay or wellness component (like yoga or workshops), Jane is significantly better than SimplePractice. Its ability to handle "classes" and "online booking" with pre-payments is world-class.
